Last night was the first 10 mile TT of the season. Held in close to perfect conditions, warm and a SW wind, 17 riders competed. Congratulations to Andy Thomas who won with a fantastic time of 20:57, and to both Matt Goodwin and April Page for setting PB's so early in the season.

As usual, thanks to the timekeepers and marshal.

On Sunday, seven club members joined the memorial ride for Stu Simons. In very windy and at times wet conditions approximately 20 riders left Barton Market Place to ride a 98 mile course which formed part of the London Edinburgh London ride that Stu had previously taken part in.

Huge kudos to Ali Schofield who completed the whole course, with hubby Andy completing 60 miles. Dave Haddock, Calvin Burton, Darren Busby and Sam Abdy completed 40 miles. Robert Danson had to cut his ride short due to the weather and his wardrobe choices, but still managed 24 miles. Well done all who rode any or all of the course.

Last night was the first club event of the season. 11 plucky riders took to the line for the 5 mile TT in cold, wet and windy conditions. The event was won by Sam Abdy, closely followed by John Gadie.

Congratulations to April on her PB and also for catching her mother :-)

Thanks to the timekeepers and officials for turning out on such an unpleasant night.

On Good Friday Sam took part in the City RC Open 10 mile TT on the V714. On yet another windy day Sam posted a time of 23:34 despite shipping his chain and getting held up at the turn, finishing a creditable 28th out of a large field of 106.

John and Sam were at it again yesterday, riding the Hull Thursday RC Open 2up Hard Riders TTT. A shorter course than the previous event (23 miles), saw them finish sixth again in a time of 59:14. Ridden in what can only be described as brutally windy conditions, just finishing was an achievement.

This weekend saw a busy weekend for some of the BWCC members.

Firstly, on Saturday, Sam and John rode the City RC Open 2up 25 Hard Riders TTT on the V733, which certainly lived up to its name. On a cold and windy day Sam and John finished sixth in a time of 1:04:35.

Then Sunday saw five members and a visitor complete the 40 mile Reliability Ride in very wet and windy conditions. Well done to Sam, Dave, Calvin, Ian and Darren for completing the course in just under 3 hours.
